Unity assets bundle extractor linux how to#
I have managed to get them both into an asset bundle, I just can't seem to figure out how to choose which asset to extract out. I'm stuck now at the next part, which is trying to combine both of these into a single asset bundle and then be able to get them back out. So I kind of understand what is going on so far. I can extract both ok, even from our server. I have managed to create 2 asset bundles so far, one of a cube (like in the tutorial) and another of a mesh from our game. So far I have been looking through the examples, mostly I have been following this. My goal is to pack almost all the game's media into one big Asset Bundle, just one. When the save is completed, go to File > Close.I am certain this is possible but just not sure what I am doing yet. Save the modified ".assets" folder in any directory excluding the VV data folder, because it will cause a write error as the file is being accessed by the tool itself. On the import menu, select the edited VV file dump. Step 10: On Unity Asset Bundle Extractor, select the AudioClip you want to replace in VV's assets, and select the "Import Dump" button. (The left side of the image is the custom song, and the right side is the original song from VV.) Change the "m_Source" parameter to the name of your custom ".resource" file(For example, if a custom file replacing a song has a source of "songs.resource", then the song being replaced would have the source changed to the same name.). In the VV dump, change "m_Offset" and "m_Size" to the values in the file from the built project. Step 9: Open both the sound dump from VV, as well as the sound dump from your built project.

Step 8: Find the "AudioClip" file that you intend to replace, then select the "Export Dump" button and find a good place to put it. Step 7: On Unity Asset Bundle Extractor, go to File > Open, then select all of the sharedassets files with the extension of ".assets" in the VV data folder. You will need to remember the name of the file, because it will be used later. Then copy the file into the data folder of VV. Step 6: Go to the data folder of your built project, and rename the sharedassets resource file containing your custom audio so nothing in the VV data folder gets replaced. Step 5: Select the audio file that you intend to use as a sound effect or song, then click the "Export Dump" button and find a good place to put the file. Step 4: In Unity Asset Bundle Extractor, select the sharedassets file with the ".assets" extension in the data folder of the built project. Step 3: Go to File > Build Settings, add the currently open scene (if it has not already been added), then select "Build." Then drag the Audio Files into the Scene Hierarchy to add an Audio Source to the scene, otherwise the audio clip would not appear in the sharedassets file. Step 1: Using Unity, create and open a project. Part II: Editing Audio Note: Unity Editor is required to export a build containing audio. Step 10: Run the game and enjoy your texture edit! Step 9: Drag the modified ".assets" file into the data folder of your Vibrant Venture installation. After saving, select File, then Close to prevent any file permission errors from occurring. Step 8: Select File, then Save on the Asset Editor, and find a good place to store the file. Step 7: Select the edited texture in your folder. Step 6: In the Edit menu, select the Load button near the Texture label. Step 5: Select the image you had selected before, and click the Plugins button again. Step 4: In an image editing program of your choice, open the image and alter it to your liking, however do note that you are limited to the size of the original sprite. Then click on the Plugins button, and select either export to ".tga", or to ".png", depending on your preference.

Ensure you have Unity Asset Bundle Extractor ( found here). Note 2: It is also possible to use Asset Studio( found here) as it allows you to preview the image you are replacing without the need of exporting it, however it cannot replace assets (as of the time this tutorial was written). Note: It's a good idea to make backups in case anything goes wrong.
